Week 4
The gender differences in sports is vast especially males in the sporting media. The male dominates has always been like this. To see the differences you must first of all look on both sides of the coin.
its always been associated that a male sport like football and basketball to be played by males, and that a female dominate sport like netball and softball. The ones that suffer are the athletes that are in a sport dominated by the opposite gender.
I think there's no reason not to mix genders up in sports, being that baseball, basketball or any other sport. It may start a chain reaction and other sports may follow suit, an example is tennis and volleyball where they have mixed genders playing together. In time people may see more of mixed genders playing together at a professional level.

Week by week result of genders in the media
Week 3
Through out gathering my third week of results i figured society won't change for years to come. Even though society has excepted males and females as equal, through the media it clearly hasn't changed greatly at all.
The media is what the majority of world engages with everyday, and maybe slowly adding female sports into the list of airtime may gain popularity. By the looks of it, females are still portrayed differently compared to males, being in sports, television shows, advertisement and other media forms. (e.g. newspapers, internet)

Week by week result of genders in the media
Week 2
The second week has past and nothing has really changed, and i don't think it will for a while.
Seeing a change in this industry will be a difficult task for anyone who is trying to find a balance between genders.
Upon investigating further on the problem, a Center for Feminist Research in University of Southern California have found that 96.3% of airtime go to male sports, 1.6% of female sports are on airtime and 2.1% are neutral gendered.
The research was done between 1989 and 2009 which show from 2004 a drop for females sports from 6.4% to what it is now 1.6%.

Week by week result of genders in the media
Week 1
The first week of result i found that male clearly dominate females in the sporting industry. The score should be more balanced then this, but in reality it has always been like this.
By watching the news alone viewers can easily see that the sporting coverages on male athletes are far Superior then females.
Why is there such a huge difference is hard to say because there are so many variables. But as i can see the population want to see male sports compared to female and it has always been like this ever since. It is also how the viewers adapt to watching male athletes, i think people are so use to watching something good in action, they wouldn't want to see change, and even argue why should there be a change.

What is your opinion about the gender differences in sports?
Within the media, is there a difference of coverage in your opinion?
What will you do to help change this? or what can be done?
